There are two types of Insurance working on our marketplace:
Own insurance
This option is generally common with professional rental fleet owners. The vehicles will appear with the sign “Insured Vehicle” under Insurance Conditions on the offer page, and the information regarding the insurance of the vehicle will be indicated in the listing itself, also, the price of the insurance is already included in the nightly rate.
Indie Campers Camper Travel Insurance
Small campervan owners more commonly use this Insurance. This insurance covers the use of the motorhome for incidents during the peer-to-peer rental; find more detail of what is covered in the links below:
If your booking is with one of these Insurances, Indie Campers will do all insurance-related procedures, such as document verification, deposit charge, and release.
Document validation and release
Document verification
Customers must upload their documentation in the Client Area. If this is not completed, Indie Campers will contact the customer before the pick-up date for document validation. The following documents are required:

Driving licenses from all drivers

Credit card with sufficient funds to cover the security deposit. The cardholder must be present at check-in*.

Deposit charge
After successful document validation, Indie Campers will place an automatic hold on the security deposit using the payment method provided by the customer.
- If the hold deposit attempt fails, Indie Campers will contact the customer via email to arrange an alternative method.
- If all validations are not completed and confirmed three days before the check-in date, Indie Campers reserves the right to cancel the booking in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.

Deposit release
If there are not damages, responsbible of the customer, deposit will be release in the next 15 business days due to bank processing time.
Important Details to Note:
- The security deposit can only be processed using a credit or debit card; transfers or cash are not accepted.
- The security deposit will not appear as a positive or negative amount on your statement; the original authorization will simply be canceled 6-30 days after the rental. This will make it appear as if the transaction never occurred. You can confirm this with your bank.
