For Indie Campers bookings
At Indie Campers, we understand the importance of transparency and clarity in our damage process. Here’s a breakdown of what you should know:
- Contract Authorization: After you sign the rental contract, we'd like to let you know that we should charge for damages and other agreed-upon charges within 30 days after the rental period ends.
- Internal Audit: After drop-off, we conduct an internal audit (post-checkout) to identify damages swiftly. This allows us to oversee damages quickly and accurately. If damages are found, those will be charged according point 3.
-
Damage pricing: In the case where there is accidental damage (Negligence under the Terms and conditions) to the van during the rental period, the customer is responsible for all associated costs. Damages are priced according to the Indie Campers Price List which are estimated based on the current market rates for parts and labor required to repair the damages. Indie Campers has conducted a market research per vehicle model and per location (drop-off location), considering the mechanic hourly rate, the hours needed to repair each part of the vehicle, and the part cost. The result of such market research is a damage tree or The Price List. Please see below for the various considerations that are accounted for during the development of the Price List:
- Firstly, the part of the damage will be identified as to be Repaired or Replaced. Remains or Replacements can be done in-house or on Externals.
- If Replacements are necessary, cost and availability of spare parts, replacement labour, and painting labour are considered.
- If Repairs are necessary, repair labour and painting labour are considered.
- Stoppage – the time van may be in repairs or part replacement and not available in our fleet – is considered.
- Logistics, Administration Fees, and VAT, are considered. The damage cost cannot be edited or negotiated with IndieCampers. The customer is liable for all damage costs whether or not Indie Campers chooses to Repair or Replace.
- Exclusions from Protection Plans: Damages excluded from the protection plans are charged in full above the maximum liability. For further details, refer to Exclusions to the maximum liability of Protection Plans.
Understanding these aspects helps facilitate a smoother process in the event of any damages incurred during your rental period.
