At Indie Campers, we understand that accidents and traffic violations can occur while using our vehicles. To protect ourselves from potential issues, we require a security deposit to be held at pick up. This deposit covers expenses such as traffic violations, toll charges, missing or damaged equipment, or sealed gas bottles used during the rental period. The deposit will be held until the vehicle is returned safely.
After drop-off, the deposit can be deducted for up to 30 days, and any remaining amount will be released to the customer's account.
Cases where the security deposit is on hold for more than 30 days
However, there are some situations where we may need to keep the security deposit longer than 30 days:
-
The vehicle needs repairs or evaluation from a mechanic;
-
Damage values are being analyzed;
-
In case of a remote Drop-off.
We may hold the deposit until these issues are resolved.
Deposit Release
Once the deposit is released, you can expect the returned amount to be available in your account within 15 working days, depending on your bank's processing times. It is important to note that you will not see a refund credit on your statement; the original authorization will simply drop off after a few days. This will appear as if the entire transaction never happened. You should be able to confirm this with your bank.
At Indie Campers, we strive to provide a transparent and fair rental experience, and our security deposit policy helps us to do so while ensuring the safe return of our vehicles.
