The security deposit is the amount that will only be blocked on the credit card during the trip, and that can be deducted up to 30 days after drop-off. This amount covers additional payment at the drop-off, such as missing equipment, extra km, etc. If there haven't been any violations or damages to the car, the amount will be released.
Please be aware:
- The security deposit might have a different value from the maximum liability and depends on the protection plan you selected at the time of booking. By booking the premium protection plan, you can reduce the deposit amount.
- The credit card holder must be physically present at check-in (even if he/she is simply one of the passengers and not the main driver). Also, bring all the necessary devices in order to authorize 3D secure online payments at check-in, otherwise, the vehicle cannot be delivered. You can check the amount of the security deposit while booking your trip under > payment.
If you are renting through the Marketplace you will be able to check the deposit amount while booking under the > trip summary and prices.
