To help you book with confidence, we’ve outlined our cancellation and refund policies below. These terms vary depending on whether you are booking directly from the Indie Campers fleet (orange icon) or from a Marketplace host (purple icon). Use this guide to understand your options and ensure your trip stays on track.
1. Standard Bookings (Indie Campers Fleet)
When booking an Indie Campers vehicle, marked by the orange Indie Campers icon in the vehicle listing on our website, you will choose between two primary rates. Your refund eligibility depends entirely on which option you select at the time of booking.
A. Basic Cancellation Policy (Non-Refundable Rate): The Basic Cancellation Policy requires the full reservation amount to be paid at the time of booking. If the reservation is canceled at any point after confirmation, only a 5% refund is available. Please note that cancellations made on the same day as the scheduled pick-up are completely non-refundable.
B. Flexible Cancellation Policy (Flexible Rate): The Flexible Cancellation Policy allows for partial refunds based on the timing of the cancellation relative to your check-in date.
- Payment Schedule: For bookings with the Flexible Option, 50% of the total amount is due at the time of booking, with the remaining 50% due 30 days before the check-in date. If the booking is made less than 30 days before check-in, 100% of the amount is due upfront.
- Refund Eligibility:
- More than 30 days before check-in: 100% refund of the amount paid up to that point.
- Between 30 and 8 days before check-in: 50% refund of the amount paid up to that point.
- Between 7 and 1 day before check-in: 5% refund of the amount paid up to that point.
- Same day as check-in: No refund will be provided.
- Flexible Fee: A non-refundable fee applies to this rate and varies based on the time before your pick-up:
- 30 to 60 days before pick-up: €4
- 60 to 120 days before pick-up: €6
- 120 to 180 days before pick-up: €8
- 0 to 30 or more than 180 days before pick-up: €10
2. Marketplace Bookings (Host-Owned Vans)
When booking a vehicle marked with the purple Marketplace icon in the vehicle listing, you are renting a van owned by an independent host. These bookings are subject to one of four cancellation policies chosen by the host. Please be aware that if a traveler initiates a cancellation, the service fee corresponding to the amount already paid is non-refundable and will be deducted from the total refund.
A. Super Flexible Cancellation Policy
- 14 or more days before pick-up: You will receive a full refund of the amount paid to date, minus the proportional service fee.
- Between 14 days and 48 hours before pick-up: You will receive a 50% refund of the amount paid to date, minus the service fee.
- Less than 48 hours before pick-up: No refund will be provided for cancellations made within this window.
B. Flexible Cancellation Policy
- 30 or more days before pick-up: You will receive a full refund of the amount paid to date, minus the proportional service fee.
- Between 30 and 14 days before pick-up: You will receive a 50% refund of the total amount paid to date, minus the service fee.
- Within 14 days of pick-up: No refund will be provided for cancellations made within this window.
C. Moderate Cancellation Policy
- 30 or more days before pick-up: You will receive a full refund of the amount paid to date, minus the service fee.
- Between 30 and 14 days before pick-up: You will receive a 25% refund of the total amount paid to date, excluding the service fee.
- Within 14 days of pick-up: No refund will be provided for cancellations made within this window.
D. Strict Cancellation Policy
- 30 or more days before pick-up: You will receive a 50% refund of the total amount paid to date, excluding the service fee.
- Within 30 days of pick-up: No refund will be provided for cancellations made within this window.
3. Cancellations by Indie Campers or Hosts
In the rare event that your booking must be cancelled by us or a Marketplace host due to operational issues or technical problems:
- Full Refund: You will receive a 100% refund to your original payment method.
- Alternative Options: Our support team will provide you with available alternative vans for your dates to help keep your trip on track.
- Force Majeure: Extraordinary circumstances (e.g., natural disasters) may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
4. How to Cancel Your Booking
You can cancel your reservation directly through your Client Area on our website. Simply log in, locate your booking, and follow the cancellation prompts. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation message. Applicable refunds are typically processed back to your original payment method within 7 to 15 business days.
