For Indie Campers bookings
License requirements
- A normal valid driving license category B* is required to drive our campervans.
- No international license is needed if you have a European driver's license.
- The driver's license must be valid for both automatic and manual transmission RVs.
Special Requirements for Non-European Citizens:
- Non-European citizens traveling in Italy, Austria, and Greece must possess an international driving permit (IDP).
- Even with an IDP, you must also carry your own country's driver's license.
Important Considerations:
- Indie Campers does not assist in obtaining the International Driving Permit (IDP).
- We do not assume responsibility for reservations made without a qualified driver. It is your responsibility to ensure, in coordination with local traffic authorities or consulates, the validity of your driver's license at your travel destination.
- Note: Ensure that your driver’s license matches the weight of the vehicle you are renting.
Age Requirements
- In Europe, the minimum age to drive our campervans is 18 years old for short- and medium-term rentals.
- In the US, Canada, and Australia, the minimum age is 21 years old.
- Drivers under 25 are required to choose the Basic Protection plan and are not allowed to purchase the Premium Plan. Know more about protection plans Discover Our Protection Plans: What's Covered for You?
