How do I set my rates?

You choose how much you earn.

While creating your listing, one of the steps will be Listing Pricing. Here you will set up the price per night you want to charge and the minimum number of nights you wish to require. A price suggestion will already be filled in based on the information you provided in previous steps, but you are free to change it as you see fit.

You have full autonomy to set your rental price. Indie Campers may offer non-binding suggestions or insights to help optimize pricing based on market trends and platform performance, but the final decision rests solely with you. To align with platform standards and ensure a consistent customer experience, we encourage you to set pricing that reflects the true value of the vehicle, taking into account its equipment, condition, age, and mileage.

Your pricing commitments

Setting your own rate comes with a few obligations under the Terms and Conditions that it is important to keep in mind:

Price parity. You commit to practising prices on the Indie Campers Peer-to-Peer Platform that are lower than or equal to the prices you offer for the same vehicle on other platforms or on your own website, taking into account the different calculation systems used by each platform.

Minimum availability. You must comply with the minimum availability requirements set by the Platform. These can be consulted on the Indie Campers website and should be factored in alongside your pricing strategy, since gaps in availability can lead to cancellations and cancellation fees.

No hidden fees. You may not charge additional fees beyond what is explicitly stated in your listing, such as extra mileage or cleaning charges, unless these are clearly outlined and agreed upon through the Platform.

Insurance for Professional Hosts. If you are a Professional Host, your nightly rate must already include the cost of basic rental insurance. You may not ask Travellers to arrange their own third-party insurance, or charge an additional insurance fee after a booking has been confirmed.

Keep rates updated. It is your responsibility to keep your rates fairly updated and competitive. Should you want to adjust them, feel free to contact your Account Manager, who will be happy to assist and advise you.

Setting seasonal prices

You can choose as many seasonal prices as you want, so your rate can flex with demand throughout the year, provided each seasonal rate still respects the price parity and no hidden fees rules above.

To set seasonal prices:

  1. Enter your Host area
  2. Click Listings
  3. Click details
  4. Click Pricing Configuration
  5. Click on Seasons

  6. Create a New Season. You can choose the price for different seasons if you wish. Based on the season and dates you select, a proposal will be automatically filled in according to your campervan type, features, and location, but you are free to change it as you want.

  7. Click Save to apply the changes
  8. Create as many seasons as you wish

Each season lets you set a start date, end date, price per night, and minimum nights, and shows your estimated earnings per night after the platform commission.
