Panel blinking yellow (orange) nine times, about 30 seconds after you switch on? That means the heater isn't getting gas. This is one of the fault lights on the CP Classic panel — for the full list, see the gas troubleshooting guide.
Worth knowing: your heater and fridge use far more gas than the hob does — so "the stove still lights" doesn't mean there's enough gas (or enough gas pressure) for the heater. A ×9 can show up while you can still cook.
Work through these in order
- Check the bottle actually has gas. If it's low or empty, that's your answer — swap or refill it.
- Check the connection. Make sure the bottle is connected properly and the valve on top of the bottle is fully open. If there's a black button on the gas hose, press it to clear any air lock after a bottle change.

Open the internal gas valves. These are the manual shut-offs inside the van — they need to be fully open (handle in line with the pipe, matching the sticker):

- Cold weather? This is the usual culprit. If the bottle still has gas but you're getting a ×9 when it's cold out, the gas may simply be too cold to vaporize (this happens with butane). Use a propane bottle where you can, or move the bottle somewhere warmer and try again once it's warmed up.
- Reset and give it time. Switch the panel off, wait 5 seconds, switch it on, and leave it 15–20 minutes. A solid yellow light means it's found gas and is heating up normally. If it goes back to blinking ×9, there's still no gas getting through — contact us.
