Symptoms: Battery not charging, or you're not sure if it's charging at all
220V charging only works when the van is actually connected to shore power (an external mains hookup). If it's not plugged in, nothing will charge. That's expected, not a fault. Make sure it's genuinely connected before troubleshooting further.
Step 1: Check the cable connection
Make sure the charging cable is fully and properly connected at both ends, the van's socket and the power source. A properly seated plug clicks fully into place; if it's sitting loose or at an angle, reconnect it.
Step 2: Check the control panel
Look for the "230V mains connected" light on your control panel (numbering and icon can vary by model, but it's always a similar plug icon). This tells you the system is receiving power and ready to charge.
While you're there, also check the battery level indicator. It shouldn't be showing red.
Step 3: Check the breaker and charger box
- The 220V breaker switch should be in the ON position. Its location varies by model, for example under the rear bed or rear seat.
- Near it, you'll usually find a charger box with its own light. It should be powered on, with its switches facing upward.
Step 4: Check the power source
If you're plugged into an external power station (like at a campsite), confirm it's supplying enough power. A weak or low-amp source can prevent the van from charging properly, even if everything on your end is fine.
Step 5: Try a different cable
Still not charging? Try a different charging cable. Borrowing one from another camper works well for this. If you end up buying or renting a replacement cable, send us the receipt via chat and we'll start the refund process right away.
Step 6: Confirm it's actually charging
A light being on doesn't always tell the full story. Let it charge for a few hours, then check whether the battery level on the panel has actually gone up. If the light's on but the level isn't rising, get in touch with us.
