Troubleshooting the water pump

Symptoms: No water, weak water flow, or the pump won't turn on

Things to keep in mind:

• Weak pressure isn't necessarily a fault. The leisure battery needs to be at least 50% charged for the pump to run at full strength. If the battery's low, weaker pressure is expected.
• A bit of sputtering or hissing is normal, not a sign of a broken pump. After refilling the tank, or if the pump hasn't run in a while, air gets trapped in the lines and takes a minute to clear.

Step 1: Check the basics

1. Check the battery level on the control panel (see reference below). It should read at least 50%, and the indicator shouldn't be red.
   • If it's low, plug the van into an external 220V power source at the socket on the driver's side, then check if the charging light comes on.
   • If charging doesn't solve it, this may be a charging issue rather than a pump issue. See Troubleshooting van charging issues.
2. Check the water level on the control panel. If it's below half, refill the fresh water tank.
3. Turn on the pump. The switch is usually on the control panel; on some models, it's located near the kitchen area instead.

Step 2: Clear the airlocks

Open a tap (cold water) and let it run for 1–2 minutes. This clears trapped air from the lines, which is a common cause of sputtering or no flow right after refilling.

Step 3: Listen for the pump

With a tap open, listen for the pump. It makes a soft buzzing sound when it's working.

• You hear it, and water flows: All good.
• You hear it, but no water comes out: Leave the tap open for another minute to clear remaining air, then check again.
• You don't hear it at all: Try another tap, like the shower. If you still don't hear it anywhere, contact our support team so we can take a closer look.
