When you cancel a confirmed booking as a marketplace host, you forfeit your payout for that reservation and may incur a cancellation fee. To protect traveler trust, host cancellations are tracked on your account and subject to a progressive penalty system.
Cancellation Penalties & Consequences
- 1st Cancellation: Cancellation fee applied + policy reminder.
- 2nd Cancellation (within 3 months): Cancellation fee applied + reduced listing visibility in search results.
- 3rd Cancellation (within 12 months): Cancellation fee applied + potential listing suspension and account review.
How to Request a Penalty Waiver
If your cancellation was completely unavoidable, you can request to waive the fee within 14 days of cancelling. Email rentmyrv@indiecampers.com with valid documentation supporting one of the approved extenuating circumstances below.
| Approved Circumstance | Accepted Proof |
| Major Mechanical Failure | Mechanic's report, repair invoice, or service diagnosis confirming vehicle is undrivable |
| Vehicle Accident or Damage | Police accident report, roadside assistance/tow report, or insurance claim document |
| Host / Family Medical Emergency | Doctor's note, medical/death certificate, or hospital admission document for host or immediate family |
| Force Majeure & Severe Events | Official government/authority notice (road closures, extreme weather) or force majeure proof |
Situations Not Eligible for Waivers
Cancellation fees will not be waived for operational or calendar management issues, including:
- Calendar sync errors or double bookings
- Pricing or rate errors
- Changes in personal availability, schedule, or traveler preferences
- Vehicle unreadiness or lack of trip preparation
